Earlier this year, we celebrated the wonderful contribution of our midwifery and nursing teams as part of International Day of the Midwife and International Nurses Day.
As part of our celebrations we held the annual Jessie McPherson Private Hospital Nursing & Midwifery Awards. The award categories are:
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NURSE OF THE YEAR 2023 – VICKI GREEN
Vicki is the Nurse Unit Manager for our Gastrosciences Unit, Ward 51 South. Director Clinical Services, Jennine Harbrow explains why Vicki is a very deserving winner for the Jessie McPherson Private Hospital Nurse of the Year Award 2023.
“Vicki is recognised for her outstanding contribution to the hospital, fulfilling not only her appointed duties as Unit Manager, but also covering other senior leadership positions such as ADON or Director Clinical Services as and when required.
Most recently, Vicki has shown exceptional dedication in supporting the establishment of a new surgical ward that will not only benefit patient flow and capacity management, but also the expansion of surgical services to meet the growing demands of our community.
Vicki’s attention to detail and strong leadership skills over many years has been instrumental to the Surgical Services provision at Jessie McPherson. Vicki has gone above and beyond in her duties as a nurse, demonstrating a deep commitment to patients, the team and the wider hospital. Vicki’s dedication to improving patient outcomes and her strong work ethic make her a true asset to our team.
We are proud to have Vicki as part of the Jessie Family and believe she is a deserving candidate for the Nurse of the Year Award 2023.”
We spoke to Vicki to find out how she felt about the award, “As we gathered together for the 2023 awards, I felt my heart pounding when I saw my name on the nominations list. It was an amazing experience to accept the Jessie Nurse of the Year award surrounded by my team. I am honoured to be recognised for my contributions to our hospital. I am truly grateful to be celebrating this achievement with my colleagues and loved ones.”
