Biography:
Matthew is a specialist adult and paediatric interventional radiologist (IR) practising at Alfred Health, Monash Health, and Jessie MacPherson Private Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. He completed his undergraduate medical degree at Monash University, graduating with honours. Matthew then underwent internship and residency years at Austin and Northern Health, Melbourne, as well as in Japan at the Osaka University Hospital. Matthew completed radiology and interventional radiology training at Alfred Health, Melbourne, focussing on minimally invasive procedural work. Matthew also spent a year working at a specialised women's and children's hospital in Singapore, where he developed subspecialty skills in women's and children's IR.
Matthew has completed advanced training and fellowships in the broad scope of interventional radiology practice, including endovascular surgery, embolisation, and image-guided ablation procedures, having performed over 3000 operative cases to date. He is passionate about providing minimally invasive treatment options for patients in both the public and private systems. Matthew is actively involved in research, having published over 50 peer-reviewed scientific articles, and is currently a Senior Lecturer at Monash University in the Department of Surgery (Interventional Radiology).
